The Magic of Music Creative Arts and STEM Camp
Camp
Camper Ages: 5 to 12yo.
Fill your child’s summer with the welcome sounds of music and laughter! No previous music instruction required. (no camp on July 4)
Join us in this two-week introduction to the magic of music. Our fun and engaging camp includes music appreciation, musical theatre, singing and movement, music games, arts and crafts, and much more! Students will explore different instruments including piano, guitar, recorder, drums, and many more. In our inspiring musical theatre classes, children will sing, dance, act, and design and make props and costumes for a student-inspired and student-created musical theatre performance - merging visual arts, musicality, and social elements for an exciting final presentation. Qualified professionals help bring out your child's individuality in a fun and creative environment by leading small elective classes in small groups designed to promote individual attention. No previous music instruction is required.
Music Counselors in Training (CIT) program:
For teens ages 13 to 16 who love music, theater arts, and helping others! Our program offers a chance to work closely with experienced artistic professionals in a warm, supportive environment for children. The two-week camp format allows time to practice a variety of skills necessary for helping young children learn while having fun, focusing on positive reinforcement, setting reasonable expectations, appreciating differences, classroom etiquette, and much more. At the end of each two-week session, participants receive a “Counselor in Training” certificate, and have the opportunity to receive recommendations from professional Keys for Kids staff.
Extended Day STEM Program Available
Students will be transformed to sound engineering experts in the optional after-hours STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) program. Kids will design their own instruments, learn about sound properties, natural harmonics and their relationship to the strings, and identify birds in the wild from their sound and much more!
